Just in the past few weeks here, I received an e-mail from my Grandma. Enclosed in this e-mail was the story about a woman who is a strong christian, and goes to church over in Wisconsin. This is how the story goes: She was driving down the freeway, and saw a hitch hiker up ahead. She didn't know why, but all of a sudden she just felt prompted by the Holy Spirit to pick him up. So she does, and they begin to chit-chat back and forth. After a couple minutes, the man out of the blue says "Gabriel has the trumpet to his lips." And then he disappeared into thin air. Well, of course like you and I would be I'm sure, this woman was really creeped out by such a thing, and she begins speeding and swerving. And of course a cop pulls her over. She tells him what happened and the cop responds to this by telling her that he should give her a ticket, but he would not because in the last hour 5 others had given him the exact same story.
Now, it says in the bible that no one, besides the Father in Heaven knows the day or the hour of His return, but somehow I get the feeling that it is getting very close. So please, brothers and sisters; do not get tired of doing good; and never stop preaching the word. We just may have the eternal future of people's souls in our hands, and that's not something to be messing around with. We have been given a very serious mission, and one that it seems we are failing at. Please, don't be caught sleeping.
1 Thessalonians 5:1-6 :But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. 2 For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. 3 For when they say, "Peace and safety!" then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. 4. But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. 5 You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober."
